Abstract
For investigating a underlying psychological mechanisms in the etiology of a skin disorder, we tried to compare the differences in correlation among pruritic symptoms, aggressive tendency, and depressive symptoms in the patients with
psychological
pruritis, chronic urticaria, organic pruritis and major depression. The subjects were composed of 32 patients with psychological pruritis and 67 patients with chronic urticaria(subject group), and 25 patients with organic pruritis and 59 patient
with
major depression(control group). Bakker's Assertiveness-Aggressiveness Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory and Medical College of Wisconsin Center Pain Follow up Questionnaire were used for assesement.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. There were significant positive correlations between assertiveness, aggressiveness and depressive symptom each other in patients with psychological pruritis only.
2. In relationship between pruritic symptom and depressive symptom, patients with chronic urticaria showed a significant positive correlation but remainders did not.
3. For pattern of pruritis, there was a negative relation with assertiveness in patients with psychological pruritis. But a revered relationship was noticed in patient with chronic urticaria.
Above results indicate that the psychological factors play an important role in the etiology of psychological pruritis and chronic urticaria and the psychological mechanism involving the processes to make a depression is different in either
